Any ideas of a type of dinner you make/eat at camp?
All we can use is boiling water and an open fire. I'm in girl guides and we're supposed to learn how to live in the real "outdoors"
Oh yes, it has to be something that 10 girls will like and eat.
Kids love tacos! Use the ground beef, cook it before you go and then just heat it up in foil, pre-cut all th tomatoes, buy pre-grated cheese and some sour cream.
Instead of using…actual taco shells, use the flat bread…
KIDS LOVE THIS, I use to be a scout leader and everyone ate everything we never had stuff left over..
Dessert can be fun too, buy some MED size oranges and use a apple core'r poke a hole in the top but don't throw it out keep it…..have each of the girls scrap out as much orange from the inside at they can without actually breaking the orange. (kinda like pumpkin cleaning) Make vanilla cake batter…and fill in the orange through the top hole, now replace the piece that you took off to start. Wrap them individually in foil and put them in the fire…give it about??? 10 minutes and check them…if they are still running just keep checking them every 5 mins. When they are done unwrap the foil, break open the orange and the cake will be cooked and it will taste like orange…VERY YUMMY
HAPPY COOKING!

Can you have foil? If so go for the hobo dinner. Pat out some hamburger meat, peel and chop some taters, carrots. Wrap up individual packets with one meat patty, taters, carrots. Bury them in the fires hot coals for about 20 minutes or so. YUMMY

We used to put a mix of meat and vegetables in aluminum wrap and toss it on the fire.
Hotdogs on a stick over the open flame are always good.

What about aluminum foil? We used to make a hamburger pattie, some sliced potatoes and carrots and wrap them in foil (shiny side in) and then put the whole foil package into the fire.. 30-40 minutes later - Presto!

Hobo stew
Hamburger
Onion
Ketchup to taste
Pork & Beans
You would have to figure up how much Hamburger, onion and pork and beans you would need for 10 girls who love to eat. This would be something warm for a chilly night
